A cutting-edge start-up in Amsterdam specializes in developing advanced software for autonomous unmanned systems. The company brings together expertise in AI, robotics, and software engineering to build next-generation technology.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing robust backend software that enables autonomous drones and robotic systems. You’ll develop secure communication protocols, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to the company’s technical strategy. Additionally, you will mentor team members through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

You’ll work from a modern office at the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam, in a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment where innovation is key.

What You’ll Do

✔ Develop and maintain backend software using Rust
✔ Implement communication protocols (REST APIs, WebSockets, gRPC, Mavlink, ROS)
✔ Write and optimize unit and integration tests
✔ Manage and improve the CI/CD pipeline
✔ Mentor and support engineers through coaching and code reviews

What We’re Looking For

✔ Minimum 4 years of experience as a software developer
✔ Strong understanding of statically typed languages (Rust experience is a plus)
✔ Knowledge of software principles like DRY, KISS, SOLID, and design patterns
✔ Flexible mindset to assist across different parts of the tech stack
✔ Passion for exploring and implementing new technologies independently
