About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you’ll build and maintain the backend systems that enable autonomous flight. You’ll work with technologies like Rust, ROS, and gRPC, and contribute across the stack when needed (no experience needed up front).

You’ll collaborate closely with teammates from fields like AI, Systems & Control, and Game Development, in an environment where innovation and autonomy go hand in hand.

What You’ll Do

🔹 Develop and maintain scalable backend logic (mostly in Rust - no Rust experience needed!)

🔹 Design and implement service communication via REST, WebSockets, gRPC, and robotics protocols like Mavlink and ROS

🔹 Write high-quality unit and integration tests

🔹 Manage and improve the CI/CD pipeline

🔹 Coach peers through pair programming, code reviews, and team presentations

What We’re Looking For

✔ At least 1 year of experience in a software engineering role

✔ Solid understanding of statically typed languages like C++, Java, Scala, C#

✔ Familiarity with software design principles like DRY, KISS, SOLID, and common design patterns

✔ Comfortable working across different layers of the stack

✔ Self-starter mindset with a passion for exploring new tools and frameworks

Nice-to-haves

⭐ Side projects or open-source contributions

⭐ Familiarity with any of the following:

• Frontend: Svelte, TypeScript

• CI/Tooling: GitHub Actions, Docker, Cypress

• Protocols: REST, WebSockets
